Samsung to launch 45 new mobile models in India

Samsung is planning to launch about 45 new handsets in Indian market this year. Most of the phones will be smartphones and touchscreen phones. The smartphones price range will be starting from 8,000 onwards.

Samsung is all set to increase their manufacturing capacity at the Noida factory and also they are expecting to increase the market share in India by 32 percent. At present the company’s market share is 22 percent, which makes Samsung stands next after Nokia.

After smartphones , Samsung is planning for more Tabloid launches. The Tabloid will have phone functionality as well as computer functionality with touchscreen, camera and other smartphone features.

The distribution channels of the company are increasing the number of Samsung phones in 30,000 to 40,000 new stores. Presently in India, Samsung phones are available in 70,000 stores, and they are planning to increase the number up to 1, 20,000 by this year.

In terms of operating systems, Samsung is open for Android, Bada, Windows 6.5 providing its users with a wide range of application and servicers.

Samsung has merged their business to business services for IT and mobile devices with an aim of increasing its revenue from $38 million to $100 million this year.

Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Mobile and IT Business, Samsung Electronics said that they are committed to manufacturing phones in India. Currently, they are producing more than a million units a month and their intent is to enhance the capabilities to address the entire demand from the India market.”
