Addressing an august gathering at Microsoft TechEd, India 2011 here today, Dr Qi Lu, president – online services division, Microsoft, said that in the search engine front, it will be a two-horse race between Bing and Google in future.
To justify his stand, quoting on social media and social network, Qi Lu said, “Google has web graph and doesn’t have social graph; Facebook has social graph but no web graph... We are proud that we have both in Bing and want to use this opportunity to keep ahead in the market.”
Adding his views on the social media and how consumer digital cloud is increasing at a very high pace, he said, “Facebook and Twitter are the best examples. It enables all of us to find out what’s going around the world.”
Urging the developers to work better and innovate faster, he offered a helping hand to the developer community. “We are ready to provide platform which enables you to come-up with new applications.”
He also urged the developers to stay ahead of the game and keep up the pace of innovation.
In his address, Qi Lu also touched upon the evolution of web, how could we re-organize the web, delivering rich consumer experiences and consumer cloud services, which is rapidly changing the industry landscape.
