Samsung announces its first QWERTY smartphone

Samsung announced its first QWERTY smart phone Galaxy Pro in U.K. This phone runs on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system that offers a 2.8 inch touch screen. It helps users to access the phone by touch and type messages and e-mail and social networking accounts. The phone will be available during the second quarter of 2011 in the UK market as well as in the European countries, Middle East, South East Asia and India.
 
The phone is powered by an 800MHz chip. It supports Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1, 3G with HSDPA and GPS with A-GPS connectivity. It has a 3 MP Autofocus camera.

It has media playback support that includes MP3, AAC, WMA, RA, WMV, DivX, MPEG-4, Xvid, H.264 and H.263. There is stereo FM radio and a 3.5mm stereo jack as well. The 1350 mAh battery provides up to 11 hours talktime and the stand by time up to 620 hours.

The Galaxy Pro also supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and includes the Think Free Office Document Editor. It helps users view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
The company has not yet revealed the pricing of the phone.
