Hiring season back again! Tata Tech to hire 2,000 technocrats

Tata Technologies have rolled up their sleeves to hire 2,000 engineers in the next 12 months. This hiring will occur through campus recruitment as well as from the other companies . This is ascertained by Warren Harris, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tata Technologies. According to him in a recruitment drive conducted in Detroit, U.S last month they have hired about 40 who used to previously work in auto majors Chrysler, Ford, and GM before recession. He felt that despite the stern competition from the pure-play IT industry, engineers will be keen to join the company.

Such massive employment is sure to happen. According to him the sales of new cars and trucks had increased by 17 percent in January compared with the same month last year. The auto manufacturing industry is considered to be highly capital and labor intensive. Driven by the demand of hybrid cars and fuel efficient concepts and other such stuffs, add up to the huge sale of the vehicles. He promptly says that because of the back of growth days they are seeing massive investments by automotive companies across the globe. Therefore there is a need of building capabilities to support the growth ambitions.

Tata Technologies have full vehicle programs that they are currently working on and there is a need to push engineers to the actual product development work. This $300 Million company renders services to engineering and design, product life cycle management and product development.

It is grapevined that Tata group is keen to merge group companies, Tata cConsultancy Services with other sister firms such as CMC and Tata Technologies. Warren Harris quickly retorted that their Chairman has been clear with his views on the subject and it is believed that TCS' volume growth driven model is very different from the growth metrics at Tata Technologies.
